Depositphotos’ Image Library Hits 5 Million Images
By adding over 1,000,000 images in 3 months, Depositphotos
proves its claim to be the fastest growing stock photo agency in the
world.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 1 Dec. 2011 –
Depositphotos,
the fastest-growing stock photo agency in the world, announces the
addition of its 5 millionth image. This milestone underscores its
steady growth and commitment to be a huge player in the microstock
industry.
Depositphotos’ collection of premium, royalty-free images typically
grows over 90,000 images each week. This rapid, steady growth
ensures that users will consistently turn up fresh images during
their searches. Whether you are a web designer, blogger, news editor
or art director, Depositphotos makes it very easy, yet affordable,
to buy a quality collection of premium, royalty-free stock photos
and vector images.
Depositphotos’ 5 millionth image was created by Yuri Arcurs, world’s
most successful microstock photographer based in Denmark. He added
his newest collection of 17,000 premium images to Depositphotos, and
it so happened that his image of a
happy family walking on the beach took Depositphotos’ image
library to the 5-million mark. Yuri joined Depositphotos as a
contributor in March 2010, and his Depositphotos portfolio has been
growing constantly. In addition to being a successful microstock
artist, Yuri is known for creating free tools for photographers,
photography tutorials and guides, and he is a much sought-after
speaker at photography-related events.
Depositphotos continues to make significant improvements across the
board, offering even more to its users. To communicate better with
its customers, Depositphotos will also launch an interactive
blog. It will cover the
latest Depositphotos news; it will be filled with photography- and
microstock-related articles written by Depositphotos staff as well
as industry-recognized guest contributors.
“We are very excited to reach 5 million images in the 3 months after
Depositphotos’ library exceeded 4 million stock images in September,
and this industry record is just a small thing compared to what we
have planned. Stay tuned to our news and you’ll be excited by the
new features coming in the next months,” says Igor Kaliuzhnyi, Head
of Depositphotos’ departments in Eastern and Western Europe.

Bigstock Celebrates 5 Million Images
Bigstock is now a better choice for image buyers than ever before.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2010 — Bigstock, one of the world's premier sources of high quality, royalty-free stock images, announced a milestone today as its collection surpassed 5 million images.
Bigstock is now a better choice for image buyers than ever before, following a redesign in March 2010 that introduced a more powerful image search engine. Lightning-fast and loaded with advanced options, the new Bigstock search engine helps customers find a great stock image quickly, easily and with precision. In addition, Bigstock’s simple, credit-based payment system provides the best online experience for buyers looking to purchase affordable stock images.
“I love that I can refine my search to find stock photos that work perfectly in my layouts,” said Bigstock customer Ross Webster, a real estate agent in Mt. Helena, Australia, who uses Bigstock images to make his ads more fun. “When I need inspiration, I will often just browse new images in a category and find a great photo.”
Bigstock’s collection comes from photographers and illustrators around the world who submit images for approval by expert Bigstock reviewers. The site attracts a worldwide customer base with its high-quality, affordable images representing a diverse range of contemporary subjects and ideas.
Bigstock's 5 millionth stock photo is a beautifully composed and technically outstanding close-up photograph of a bumble bee. Bruce MacQueen of Cheektowaga, N.Y., who specializes in nature and wildlife photography, contributed the image. "I shoot my passion," MacQueen said. "That's my best advice. Shoot what you enjoy shooting."

Shotshop - Berlin Based Royalty-Free Stock Agency Goes International
Shotshop.com
presents its stock photography collection in a brand new design and
introduces a powerful, cutting-edge similarity search.
BERLIN, GERMANY, April 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Royalty-free
stock agency
Shotshop.com is the new player on the international stock
photography market. The young, independent Berlin-based agency is
now available to customers from all over the world with their new
website relaunched in mid-March.
Shotshop.com quickly developed from an insider's tip to a well
established part of the German-speaking market. With their high
quality standards and fresh concepts, Shotshop is already a
favourite agency for many advertisement agencies, publishers and
companies when it comes to image research. "We are glad to offer
Shotshop's services to customers worldwide now!", says Stephan
Krömer, Creative Director of Shotshop GmbH.
"Customers want to find images, not search for them", Stephan Krömer
is sure of. "Customers are tired of bad search results and masses of
images. Long and complicated search procedures are of course a money
and time issue." Easy operating functions and the aim to design the
whole procedure of buying stock images as convenient as possible
have always been part of Shotshop's business strategy. A unique
search algorithm guarantees exact search results. Combined with
editorial image recommendations, advanced search options, drag and
drop functions and a similarity search, Shotshop offers a maximum of
convenience during image research.
"Our new website uses one of the most powerful, cutting-edge
similarity searches on the market, vSearch by pixolution," Stephan
Krömer is proud to announce. "Our customers are now able to search
intuitively for similar images and directly for certain colour
schemes."
Besides their high technical standards, Shotshop has always focused
on a high quality. Since their foundation, the agency wanted quality
instead of quantity, unlike competitors in their price segment. Only
images that meet the high Shotshop standards go into their stock.
"Our editorial effort may be higher than in other agencies, but we
are certain that it is worth it," explains Stephan Krömer.
Shotshop's Money-Back Guarantee is the best assurance of the image
quality they offer.
When it comes to pricing, the makers of Shotshop also wanted
transparancy and convenience. The Standard Licence for an image with
maximum resolution is available from 40 Dollar. There is also an
extralarge XXL-Web Licence for only 15 Dollar. Licenced images may
be used unlimited and as long as costumers like. A Bonus Programme
allows frequent customers to collect points and get discounts up to
20% with the Silver- or GoldCards.
The "WANTED Collection" surprises with unusual and stylish images,
proofing Shotshop's individually maintained image archive and agency
style. "WANTED is an editor's choice where our editors pick their
favourite images. Always original, subjective and off mainstream."
promises Stephan Krömer. "Perfect for all who look for the
extraordinary."
About Shotshop
Shotshop GmbH was founded in Berlin in 2006. The diverse
portfolio of this young, independent agency includes People,
Lifestyle, Business, Wellness, Food, Stills, Architecture und
Nature. Customers may search the image archive on

iStock Democratizes Giving Using Microdonations and the Power of its Community
CALGARY, Alberta -- iStockphoto has partnered with fellow Calgary-based company, Benevity Social Ventures, Inc. (www.benevity.org) on a phased program to enable iStock clients, contributors and employees to easily make microdonations to the charities of their choice from within the iStockphoto.com site.
This innovative philanthropic initiative will be implemented in several phases over the coming months, beginning with iStock making a charitable donation on every purchase of select credit packs, up to a total of $500,000 in 2010. Subsequent plans include enabling artists to contribute royalties to their chosen charities, providing clients with the ability to add a “top-up” donation to any purchase, and delivering a unique workplace giving program for employees. iStock expects to partner with strategic sponsors to match donations as the program advances. Once implemented, iStock stakeholders will be able to contribute in a variety of ways, to more than 750,000 charities across North America. Canadian and American donors are eligible to receive a tax receipt for all donations made by them.
iStock asks members to vote today to determine the short list of charities to feature as phase one of the program takes shape. Voting will close on March 20, 2010, with the iStock charitable donation beginning in April.

New Shutterstock Facebook App
Last August Shutterstock introduced Shuttertweet, https://submit.shutterstock.com/admin.mhtml#shuttertweet a program for Shutterstock submitters that sends a tweet when your images are accepted and sold on Shutterstock.
It’s been such a hit that Shutterstock decided to build a similar app for Facebook. It’s simple. Visit your Shutterstock submitter account page https://submit.shutterstock.com/admin.mhtml#facebook_connect, follow the instructions, and you’ll be able to make posts on your Wall sharing your successes at Shutterstock.
You can set it to post a daily summary when your images or videos are accepted to Shutterstock, a daily summary of your Shutterstock sales stats, or both. It works with both images and footage, and you can set it to make posts automatically, or you can make them manually. And as a bonus, you’ll earn referral fees when your posts lead to subscription sales (under the terms of the Shutterstock Referral Program http://submit.shutterstock.com/reforder.mhtml.)
Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to visit the Shutterstock Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/Shutterstock and become a fan.
Shutterstock is looking forward to seeing you on Facebook!

Fotolia Celebrates Fifth Birthday - Online image company Fotolia thrives through Global Recession
NEW YORK, NY, December 22, 2009 –
Fotolia is part of a handful of companies that grew during the global recession, and this month, the online image provider celebrates its fifth anniversary. During 2009, the company saw its online library double to over 8,000,000 images and nearly 2 million images were downloaded every month. Since December 2006, membership increased nearly 10-fold, with over 1.5 million people worldwide now signed up to the site.
CEO Oleg Tscheltzoff explains the secret to Fotolia’s success: “Sourcing photos, vectors, and videos that are legal for commercial and promotional use from the most talented artists around the world has enabled Fotolia to provide incredible value. Designers, marketing, and creative professionals traditionally paid upwards of $500 per image in the past. Fotolia offers the same quality and usage rights starting at $1.”
Also contributing to the company’s success is an aggressive geographical expansion plan. Attention has returned to the North American market after success throughout Europe during the company’s initial years. Fotolia hired North American President Patrick Lor and Executive Vice President Garth Johnson, who were instrumental in the development of a major competitor. More recently, Fotolia set up shop in Turkey using its signature localization strategy.
As for where the company is headed, Tscheltzoff says, “As the economy continues to rebound, we will ramp up our global marketing efforts and continue to pursue our geographical expansion plans. Another key area is our video collection - it is the next wave of microstock. There is a real opportunity for contributors to set a precedence in this market and earn a significant income.”

Alaska Stock Increases Agent Network within Europe
Anchorage, AK (USA). NOVEMBER 2009 - (CEPIC)
- Alaska's premier photo agency, Alaska Stock Images has signed
distribution agreements with two prominent European distributors:

Both distributors are well established in their respective

commercial image buyers throughout Europe but its collection covers
major aspects of increasing international relevance and prominence
in the media: climate change and global warming. Alaska is on the
front line. Nowhere else are the effects of global warming thrown
into such stark relief by the possible causes. Alaska Stock's
extensive online archive chronicles the melting glaciers and
disappearing habitats alongside the pipelines and drilling.

The3dStudio.com has added two new
features to their stock image department. In response to members’
suggestions, a new “extra small” stock image size has been added for

software products, wallpapers, screensavers, e-cards, etc.)
Both features will benefit those who use stock images, including ad
agencies and graphic designers. Buying stock images or other
resources at The3dStudio.com is quick and easy. There is no minimum
purchase requirement. Payment is made with a major credit card or
PayPal payment. This is particularly beneficial to smaller
businesses since they don’t have to pay for subscriptions or credits
they may never use. Digital resources are available for instant
download after purchase.
The3dStudio.com began over 13 years ago as a website that offered
free 3D models. The business has expanded over the years to meet the
needs of its members, both buyers and sellers. The website currently
